This is some messed up shit.

Well it's no longer here. I just pushed it to McBrides. And yes, it is a long way. Unfortunatly, it will not be ready till next week. poo. I guess i can now stop obsessing and actually get back to work.
Well it's here. Scott and I picked up the Bike last-night, hopefully will be taking it in to be certified today after work. Hopefully on the road by this weekend... Check this space for updates.
Actually may not have too many tomorrow as i will be 'on set' for work. We are in the studio filming our next great production... Should be fun.

William Gibson's Alien III Script
Shit, and i thought the 3D stuff in Director was cool - 3D in Flash is even cooler... My brain hurts...
Small update to my BMan 2000 page.
New pics from Lord of the Rings!
List of Known Spyware Infested Software. Wow, its a pretty damn long list. Sort of scary...
hey ya'll, i've done it. I just purchased another motorcycle. yep. Here and here are a couple of pics of it. Its a Suzuki Katana 650, 1983. No, its not the really cool one, that sort of looks like a land shark, but i think this one is pretty nice too *grin*. I hope to have it up and running by next weekend. This is a pretty good page with all kinds of info on all the old Katanas. Its also where i got the pictures from.

If you like photojournalism, you should check out Untitled Magazine. They have some beautiful images. They need some help with their HTML... and for some strange reason, i said i'd help them out...
I finally created a Burningman 2000 page. I've got it linked on the top of this page.
Saw Mission Impossible 2 last night. Ho hum. See it at a matinee. I don't want to give anything away, but i am so sick of predictable movies! Like, there must be a formula that they (the exec's, i give Woo some credit) feel must be followed. Also, it seemed like they were thinking "humm, we will put some really loud music in here to cover the fact that there isn't really all that much happening". Ok, its not that bad, i just kept hoping they (the exec's again) would let Woo go crazy, ala "Hard Boiled". *sigh*
Also saw Dinosaur last Friday. It was pretty good - nice animation, and good blending of real footage with the computer animated stuff. And, thank the gods, no singing Dinosaurs!
fucking jogging. I've got shin splints like you would not believe! Crap. Fitness sucks.
I would just like to take a moment and again marvel at the wonder that is Email and the 'net. Ok, i know i've gone on about it before, but you all should read "the cluetrain manifesto". Really. it actually makes me feel good about the net and what it can do. I was just talking with the DJ from Detroit Industrial Underground (link above), which is pretty cool, and one of the authors of 'the cluetrain'. All virtual - i'd prob never have an opportunity to talk to these folks with out the 'net. pretty damn cool. I've got to go to bed, i'm just rambling now. bye bye.
Oh, one last thing - Lalonde finally updated his site (actully, its been up for a bit, i just suck). go check it out.
May 24 2000
Geezzz - i've been bad the past 2 weeks or so with updates. Sorry. I've actually been working, which might explain it. Or i could just be getting bored with the whole website/weblog thing. Or not.
May 19 2000
This is just a quick note to ya'll : Happy Long Weekend!

Napster Bad! From Mark Q.
April has been archived with all the other old news. Weee.
Found a bunch of video's on the Rolling Stone site. Thought i'd share some with ya'll. These are all Windows Media Files (sorry!) at 300+ Kbps.
Bauhaus - "Bela Lugosi's Dead"
Bauhaus - "She's In Parties"
Fear Factory - "Cars" - ok, here is the explanation. I really like this version of this song, and had never seen the video. Now that i've seen it, i'm pretty much going to laugh every time i hear this song...
Mojo Nixon - "Redneck Rampage" - for Tony
Shonen Knife - "Daydream Believer" - ok, so its unbelievably cute, you got a problem with that?!
Sixpence None the Richer - "Kiss Me (Original Mirimax Version)" - what can i say? Guilty pleasure. i like this song.
Have been playing Monster Rancher on the PSX for the last few days. Ciara has been sucked in as well. Simple fun. Raise monster, make monster fight other monsters. Repeat.
Was at a Linux Conference over the past few days. Man, there is a lot to learn. *sigh*
Spending much too much time in meat-space, not enough in cyber-space. sorry.

Some interesting thoughts from Scott McCloud (Zot, Understanding Comics) about the web and how comics relate. link from Humpries.
Bought "Monster Rancher" the other day for Playstation. Fun game - i'd been looking for it for a bit - it was given a 5 star rateing from Next Gen. You use your CD's to make 'monsters' which you raise and train and send to fight other monsters. silly fun, cute, and easy to play game. Perfect.
Oh ya, i didn't even write about "Gladiator". Well, unsurprisingly, it was great. The acting was strong from everyone, and visually, Ridley was showing his great strenght and skill. Rome looked big. Like, really big. I have a few quibles about some of the film tricks and techniques he used, but overall, wow. Go see it on the big screen.
Went and saw "The Filth and the Fury" last night. Quite good, especially since it was at the Uptown 1, so a big screen and the audio was cranked right up. In watching this film, you realise that what might be called 'pure punk' only lasted about 1 year, 1977. Then the whole leather jacket, mohawk 'uniform' tookover. Anyway, i'm pretty much just rambling...
Whew - so long with no updates? What the heck is going on? Not much apparently... Just in a funk. I did buy some pretty nice new Sunglasses tho.

Great article at the village voice about 2600 and the MPAA/DeCSS case.

Want to buy somebody a beer? And watch them at the bar? You can do it here. 3 bars - Vancouver, New York and Belgium, with Streaming Video and Audio.
Interested in Wireless networking? Heard of Bluetooth? Want some info on it?
Spent some time wrestling with Linux today at work. More tomorrow i'm sure. Lots of fun stuff to set up - CVS, Mailserv, FTP, Usenet, ah fun fun fun...
GeekMeet went pretty well tonight - well other then mark got beer spilt all over him. hehehe.

Another funny "Wazzzup" parody, this time with Elián Gonzalez... here is the site that first posted it, and here is the letter they go from AP (not very nice). Thanks to Jenn for this one.
The continuing 'unfinished project' goes on. Please check it out - i've got some pretty cool scalling and scrolling going on in this one - the scalling 'spot' is the lower right corner.
More West Wing stuff - funny spoof videos. Part 1 (8meg) Part 2 (2meg) Part 3 (3meg) Part 4 (8.8meg) all Quicktime. Sorry about the size, they were compressed using Cinepac, i don't know why. Sorenson is the only way to go. Fools.
Funny Video (Mpeg - 3Megs - thanks Reb!).
Yet another unfinished project - check it out.
May 1 2000
guilty secret time - i've been watching 'the west wing', and really enjoying it (tuesday's at 9 on ctv). Here is a good site with plot synopsis' for the past episodes. Here is an example of what you can expect (its quite funny. and, yes, the reviewer is Canadian). (ok, i've hilighted the really funny bits)
Cut to a diner, where a couple of "juniors from Florida State" are giggling and simpering while staring at Josh and Mandy, who are sitting at one of the tables. The juniors debate as to whether "that's him" or not, then finally go over, still giggling, and ask Josh for his autograph. They also recognize Mandy from some campaign, and that's when I have a huge fit of incredulousness. Like, am I to understand that, in the States, 20-year-old twits have internalized minutiae like who's on the President's staff and who even works on various campaigns? And am I to understand further that these same twits get the vapours and giggle like teenagers when in the presence of said politicos? And am I to understand STILL FURTHER that said twits are in the habit of requesting autographs, as if said politicos were rock stars? I'm sorry. I'm just not buying it. If I'm forced to believe that, then I'm also forced to believe that star-struck teenagers are giving Preston Manning blowjobs while in the bathroom at Eaton Centre, and I have a vested interest in believing - however rightly or wrongly - that THAT JUST ISN'T HAPPENING.
I've started to read 'No Logo' by Naomi Klein. She takes Nike to task throughout the book, and Nike has responded here.
The Infinite Monkey Protocol Suite (IMPS). I was working on a joke just like this at one point... This is much better.
Some Leftie info -
If both parents are left-handed, the chance that they will have a left-handed child is 26.1 percent.
I swear to God, jogging is a form of torture. I really only have myself to blame tho - poor physical shape, the worst shoes in the know galaxy, etc.
Happy May. Reclaim the streets!
