The dark side has taken over Lego. (link -> Ryan)
I think i've got the radio thing all worked out now. the biggest problem now is that i can only really 'broadcast' when i'm not using my computer! So, for now, i've got some hours of operation set up - overnight and during the day. evenings are ou
t, as i'm probably going to be futzing. So, of course, this now means that i've got to find another computer to act as a server. Humm, anybody have a cheap/free old 486? i wonder if that would run winamp? If you have some suggestions, email me.
ya'll should check out Tony's 'exchange' page. A pretty good idea, actually, he's got some stuff that he'd like to trade, and has some stuff he wants. Check it out.
Went and saw "Almost Famous" last night. Great film. The actor that played the kid was especially great. the only complaint i really had was the ending - it was too cleanly all wrapped up. but, hey, thats ok.
Am working on the Radio Station again - i will have it working! soon! really!
Bought some new music yesterday too - will be expanding the playlist again! also dug out a bunch of old CD's i'd forgotten i had, so some of them might be streaming soon too.

amIhotorNot.com - pretty funny. (link -> simpson)
I've just got to relate one more story from QTLive. They had a feedback panel, where the attendees could talk to the Apple folks about all the good and bad stuff about the conference, QuickTime, Marketing, etc. Every little bit the guys on stage w
ould read out a trivial pursuit question, and whoever answers correctly first wins some swag. So, one of the questions was what were the first 2 poem's written? Well, in an odd twist of fate, i'm currently reading them! The Odyssey and the Iliad by Homer
- so, being the only person to put my hand up, and getting it right, can you guess what i win? No? Shockwave Studio 8 Mac/PC. I can not believe it. What a score! So, there you go. I guess this might be construed as bragging, tho i really don't mean it tha
t way, i was just so surprised that i knew the answer to such a 'literary' question, and had the book in my bag! Wild.
Can i just say that taking a Red Eye flight that is not direct is a special kind of hell? Too late, i just did. Direct flight next time, for sure.
Go here and watch this flick. Now. Do it.
Also check out this site. Super nice cool design and use of Flash.

Just saw a great presentation about QT
and SMIL. I've done some stuff
in SMIL and pretty much hated it, but i've got to admit that this session
is going to make me look at it again...
Ah, sleep, wonderful sleep - it even
makes LA look good, if you get enough of it!
The Keynote today was from the folks
at WGBH - channel 17 - and
some of the stuff they are doing with QT and iTV. You should also check
out their QTchannel in the QTPlayer. Nice and fast with really good
interactivity and UI.

Holy shit am i tired. I've got a 1/2
hour before the next session, may have to catch a quick cat nap. zzzz
Sorry, the radio is off air - the
server crashed (again), so till i get back, no tunes. sigh.
QuickTime 5 looks amazing! But we are
going to have to wait a bit yet for it. Bummer. Really, tho, it does have
some really wicked shit built into it.
Ok, and can i also say - LA sucks! Its
fuckin' dead here! There is nothing around, nothing to do in the evenings,
its just an ugly wasteland! Unreal. From now on, i travel with no
expectations.
October 10 2000
Hey ya all - hope the radio server has
not crashed - it went down 5 min before i left on sunday, so i'm not sure
how its faired since i left...
Things here in sunny California are
pretty good - QTLive is cool, lots of really really smart folks doing
wicked cool shit with QT. Hopefully the announcement for QT5 with Flash 4
integration is at the Keynote today. We shall see. I don't think i've ever
seen so many Powerbooks either! And there are airports everywhere, its
pretty wild. Anyway, i'm rambleing again, so till next, peace!
October 8 2000
Ok, i'm out of here for a week, so no
more updates, but the radio
is working again! lots of folks should be able
to listen at a time, so try it out! Later!
October 6 2000
Radio UPDATE - ok, its now working for winamp on live365.com! Go to my Radio page, and start listening!
By the God's! Not enough time to think, let alone do updates to this site!!! ARG!!! Tonnes of cool stuff going on, but i've not had time to write about any of it - sorry, sorry. I just wanted to say that i will be away (at QuickTime Live!) next we
ek, so expect another slow week (you should be used to it by now).
Anyway, one thing that i have done, is set up a streaming radio mp3 thingie. You can check it out here (http
://radio.theorganization.net). It can only really handle one connection at a time, cuz i'm streaming at 96Kbps, 44Khz, stereo. I have it set to accept 5 connections, i'm going to fix that. I'm trying to get it to broadcast through live365.com, to increase the number of listeners i can have. Hopefully i will get that set up before i go. See the other URL for more Radio info.
One last quick thing - Flash 5 is really, really cool. The XML parser rocks. Full text editing for the script's! The movie browser view. very nice.
