Gezz, i don't know how i forgot to mention this - saw the re-release of "The Exorcist" last night. I haven't seen it in, well, a really really long time. It is an amazing film - not just as a 'classic horror' film, but as an example of cinema. Great, really, if you get a chance, go see it. Its worth it for the big screen.
Some very cool news - Trapeze (who i work for) has won Gold in the invision new media awards for SafehouseLive! Pretty neat. Its not listed on the site yet, we just got the call today.
Bought "Baldur's Gate II" today for Ciara. I won't see her for the next few months. (actually, i'll probably see more of her as her computer is in the same room as mine <grin>)
I think everyone should read Adbusters. Another great article - "Why YNN Sucks - Corporate Censorship in the Classroom" (link - JOHO)
Ok, this is some crazy shit - Potentially Infinite Storage, on one electron. Quantum mechanics strikes again! (link - RCFoC)
Some interesting new 'technology' called XNS (eXtensible Name Service), which deals with privacy, what info you wish to give out on the 'net, all kinds of stuff like this. The site (www.xns.org) was flooded when i went to check it, but there is a good article here that explains what its all about. Will it work? Will people use it? Who knows, but i know i'm reserving my 'unique' 'lifelong' name ASAP!
I know that somehow i've dirtied myself by posting this, but this site is a pretty good reverse psychology ad thingie. It's been broadcast on CIUT as some kind of weird cultie thing. i don't know, check it out, let me know if i'm on crack and have been brainwashed. http://morepowertome.com/
I have realized that in my zeal to keep my adoring fan's happy with lots of content on my site (thanks reading! I hope the 3 of you are enjoying it!), i've been just kind of 'spaming'. I've not been too inspired, really, lately. The stuff from Adcritic is good tho. I don't know, its late, and you know what happens when its late? I ramble. Yep. Danger! Danger! I've just been wanted to do more lately. Unfortunately, i don't really know what 'more' i want to do. Just a nagging feeling, an ache, a twitch in the neurons, a fucking compulsion, you know? I'm kind of sick of all this web/internet shit. i want something solid, something i can feel, touch, break, make. Or, it could just be that i feel like this cuz i've compromised, lost what little 'radicalizm' i once had. You know, i'm pretty sure i've done this rant before too. I guess the same thing will happen. It will come to nothing, and i'll fall slowly back into the same stupor that i was in before, compromising in the face of gross capitalism, rising corperatism and political bleakness. And you know what? I'm not bitter. We all do it. We all talk amongst ourselves and feel better cuz we are so fucking smart and lefty. But really, what do we do? Shit all. Fuck we are just so god damn apathetic, no wonder we are all so screwed up and screwed over. Ok, you know that this is just a way for me to mouth off and get it out of my system, right? good. return to your brain dead life. unit 01001011101010 out. end of line.

Nicely designed flash site - Ted Baker Online. They have some pretty cool screen savers and desktop's you can download. Great UI.
Looking for Newton software for your PC? NCK2.0 is about the only thing i've ever gotten to work with my 110.
Nice use of director - The Virtual Cell Lab. Ah molecular biology, what would we do with out you?
Have been wrestling with CVS stuff, trying to get it to work on the Mac and PC, with a NT box doing the server duties. There are a couple of clients for the Mac (MacCVS Pro and MacCVSClient), unfortunately, the nicer of the two doesn't work with the PC server. The other one is a bit too user-unfriendly for use in the non-tech part of the shop. <sigh> I'd just like it if unisoft (makers of VOODOO) would get their cross platform client-server version out the door!
Oh ya, i was live on the 'net today in an online talk-show. The show's name is 'hands on' and this episode was called - "Streaming and the Mac Audience". They links are all fucked up right now, but i'm sure by the time anybody actually reads this, it should be fixed... Oh, and they spelt my last name wrong - but - they did get 'Digital Hyakugei' right, so its not a total loss <grin>

Oh my god - if you have any memories of the good old 2600 and are a geek, check out this Quicktime movie.
Hey ya'll, i almost hate to be so 'Granola' but you prob' should check out this web site from David 'Environmental" Suzuki. Fax the PM and Premier 'bout the upcoming UN Climate Summit in the Netherlands. (link - Ciara)
Just a quick plug/advice to all you IT/do everything/Multi OS Geeks out there looking for cross platform, PDA Sync'ing (Pilot, Psion and Newton! on both the PC and Mac), networked Client/server Contact/Time and Task Management software - TeamAgenda by TeamSoft. Really quite cheap per Seat ($110 per for 10 licenses). Very interesting product. And, no, i do not have stock in the company. Oh, also, they are Canadian! which explains why i'd never heard of them before!
Also on the Geek/cross platform tech stuff, check out www.macwindows.com. Really amazing resource for all your Mac/Windowz compatibility nightmares. Its where i found out about TeamAgenda.
And yes, my last wedding of the year is done! Yaaaaa!!!!
Good article on Anarchy from Adbusters - i really recommend it, actually. I mean, its from Adbusters, so it doesn't suck. (link - Ciara)

Bye, happy Fall, have a great weekend!
Ok, once again i've gotten shit for a lack of updates - and this was from a different source! I thought nobody was reading this page! <grin>
Just picked up 2 new CD's - VNV Nation's Praise the Fallen and Godspeed You Black Emperor!'s Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada. Well, i have to say that VNV Nations latest album, Empires, is better then this older one, but its still pretty good. GSYBE! new album is as good if not better then F# A# (Infinity). Holy shit, do they rock. VNV Nation is also playing next friday (the 29th) at the reverb, and GSYBE! is playing on Oct. 5th at the Bloor Cinema.
Further in a fit of consumerism, i also bought the first 'brick' of Babylon 5 tapes. The 3 tapes have the first 5 episodes on them. The first season is 11 tapes and there are something like 5 or 6 seasons... Ouch. Ah well, they will go well with my Star Trek collection! Geek on brother! Ya!
RPG Maker has been released for the Playstation. I was pretty excited when i saw the ad for this in NextGen, but dailyradar.com has given it a pretty bad review. Ah well. If you are still interested in making your own RPG you can check out rpgmaker.net. They have a pretty good set of links and info regarding tools to make your own RPG.
Ive gotten back into the Windoz Shell scene again. I used to use LiteStep and geoShell, but have started to fool around with Cloud9ine. Pretty nice stuff. I'd actually be interested in programming for them, if they would support something other then VisualBasic! Something free, preferably, like Python. Ah well, i'll just enjoy using them, and complaining to the programmers! <grin>
We are driving to Brockville tonight, assuming that the roads aren't blocked by pissed off truckers, for our last wedding of the year! So many this summer, it was crazy.
September 19 2000
Update Alright! got the new cable, both computers are happy, life is good. Please return to your regularly scheduled life.
Ok, so i got the network happening at home - after way too much work, the problem was Sympatico's shitty software. Good bye 'Access Manager', hello WinPoET.
Also finally got the scanner up and running. Here are the first two shots from Burningman.
Here we are, in the car, arriving at Burningman 2000!
Pretty empty when we go there on Sunday. But, you will see, it fills up pretty damn good!
September 18 2000
Well the Film Fest is over, but it did go out with a bang! Wild Zero was the closing Midnight Maddness film, and it Rocked! Guitar Wolf pretty much stared in this UFO/Zombie/Rock n' Roll film. I'm sure suspect video will be getting this one, so check it out.
Spent most of the rest of the weekend wrestling with Sympatico's ADSL and tring to set up a LAN at home. More fighting will take place tonight - however (!) i'm pretty sure i now know how to share the 2 computer's at home over the ADSL... more later...
Nice Director 3D particle demo.
September 16 2000
Right, well lets start with the Olympics. You can check them out here at NBC, and for your Canadian needs, at the CBC.
So many films, so little brain matter left to write about them.
"Tigerland", Joel Schumacher's new film. Forget all his earlier, mega commercial stuff, this is not like that at all. If you get a chance to see it, do. The acting in it is wonderful, the story is great, just check it out if you can. One of the top films for me.
"The King is Alive", Kristian Levring. Shot using the 'Dogma 95' movments tennents, this film is very direct. Very Danish too - its a dark film about a group of people stranded in a desert. Sounds like a dozen other films right? Well, its not. Again, if you can, see it, and unlike 'Celebration', its in English, so even you sub-title shy folks have no excuse.
Ummm, what else... There were lots of other good films, oh ya, the one other that i've got to talk about is "Shadow of the Vampire". And once again, go see it. If you have seen "Nosferatu", you will get an extra kick out of it.
geezz, not much 'real' news, sorry. too busy seeing films! More later.
September 11 2000
So i've been told off cuz of a lack up updates since i've gotten back from burningman. Well, ok then. I better get back to it!
Was sick as a dog all weekend with a fever, but managed to see 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' by Ang Lee yesterday at the Film Festival. Wow, what an amazing film. When it gets released in December, you all have to see it. Really. Sad, beautiful, amazing fight scenes, Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh. Great.
Ciara comes home today! Yaaaaaaaaaa!
September 8 2000
Oi! I'm back. I'm alive. I'm sleepy. And its the Film Festival. No rest for the wicked. Will have more 'bout BMan some time in the future. Not really sure how to talk about it... It was pretty... well, interesting, and really personal, in the sense that it is the kind of experience that is very difficult to explain to other folks. Well, it is for me, anyway.
BURNINGMAN!
I am out of here! See you all on the 5th of September! Off to Burningman, for a week of crazy art, community and hot hot weather. I'm so excited i can hardly stand it!
Everything below here is just a test. Dont worry about it. If you do worry about it, just drop me an email.
