Left Side Pass
Left Side Pass (Aliases: Side Pass)
follower:
- count 1
- step forward on right foot
- count 2
- step forward on left foot
- count 3&4
- small step forward on right foot, small step forward on left foot, small step forward on right foot with left turn (this is also called run run run)
- count 5&6
- anchor step
Feel increased resistance on count 3&4 that helps pulling you turn around count 4.
Instead of turning around on count 4 you could also turn very gradually. The comparison often
used is to pretend having a light on your belly and keeping it pointed in the direction
of the leader. I heard this from (for example, Skippy Blair and Robert Cordoba).
Make sure to cross in front on the & of count 3&4.
leader:
- count 1
- step backward with left behind right (body lead; also called hook step),
- count 2
- small step backward on right foot (together + turn 1/4 to the left; keep leading follower straight forward; a new car!)
- count 3
- touch left foot in place (at 3.00 forward lead turns into backward lead)
- count 4
- step on left foot (back into the slot; facing follower),
- count 5&6
- step right, left, right in place (anchor step)
