About Resistance in West Coast Swing
About Resistance in West Coast Swing
Background
Some teachers (Robert Cordoba?, Ramiro Gonzales) say that resistance is too
strong a word for denoting the connection in WCS.
What is very important in WCS is to obtain a clean connection with your partner.
This means that there almost always has to be some pulling or pushing
"resistance" (Mary Ann Nunez).
(also called leverage and suppression)
Exactly how much is still controversial. I teach that one should feel the fingers of the partner. This can be done by toning the fingers
(I first heard toning from Ramiro Gonzales).
