Swing Dance Styles

What is swing dancing ?
A Swing Dance Lexicon by Bob Thomas
Overview Of Swing Dance Styles by Kurt Lichtmann

East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing and Hustle (or Swing Hustle) What are they; Very Briefly and Compactly (from the Kansas City Social Dance Page)

Source: people on rec.arts.dance and a 1993 newsletter by Bob Thomas (bobethomas@earthlink.net) a dance teacher in Boston. (compiled by Mark Balzer (mabg9646@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu) and turned into HTML by Aswin)

Since we used a lot of material from rec.arts.dance many more people did contribute to this document. Where possible I tried to include the source. I apologize for all people not (yet) recognized. Let me (aswin@cs.cornell.edu) know if you want to be mentioned as a source.

There is another version of this document at Dancers Archive that is slightly different. There is also another html version.

Other Dance Style Listings
